Rohingya people are being deliberately targeted and killed in Myanmar with over 420,000 having fled for their lives to neighbouring Bangladesh. Their homes are being burned down and this has been called ‘a textbook example of ethnic cleansing.’*
Thousands of Rohingya people continue to arrive in Bangladesh every day who are traumatised and exhausted with nowhere to go. They are being denied life-saving aid because NGOs and humanitarian organisations are not being allowed access to the area. Children have drowned in an attempt to seek safety by fishing boats.
All the refugees are confirming that the attacks are by the Myanmar security forces. Please take action by collecting signatures on this petition in your community demanding that the Chief Commander Senior General Min Aung Hlaing:
- Immediately ends the campaign of violence and human rights abuses;
- Ensures free and unimpeded access to Rakhine state to humanitarian actors, the UN, independent journalists and human rights monitors and ensure their security.
